Luke Bryan - Roller Coaster Chords and Lyric

On his new single, “Roller Coaster,” Luke Bryan takes listeners on the week-long journey of a whirlwind summer romance. Following in the footsteps of four number one hits from one album is no small task, but if any track is up for the challenge, it’s the Michael Carter and Cole Swindell penned track, “Roller Coaster.”

The video was set on the beach in Panama City Beach, Florida where Luke held his annual Spring Break concert series. It was directed by longtime cohort, Michael Monaco. “Michael has been part of my organization for the past four years,” says Bryan. “In my opinion, he did such an amazing job visually capturing these lyrics. Also, anytime I can stand on a beach and film a video is a good day!”

He also loves the location where the video was shot, admitting that it’s been the host for many memories. “There’s been tons of memories,” he says to PEOPLE, “stuff that still makes me smile, some stuff I’ve forgotten and some I want to forget!” Luke Bryan is currently on his huge That’s My Kind of Night Tour, which recently wreaked havoc at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field. He’ll also be playing stadiums in Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago later this summer.

          G                   C         Am            G
She had a cross around her neck, and a flower in her hand
        C                       Am                  G             C
That I picked from the side of Thomas Drive on our way to the sand
            G           C           Am            G
We found an old wooden chair still warm from the sun
           C                         Am                     G        C
Pushed it back, gave me a kiss with Bacardi on her lips and I was done

Chorus:
        G                   C            Bm               G
And we spent that week wide open, upside down beside the ocean
          C                 G                     Am                  C
I didn't know where it was goin' just tryin' to keep my heart on the tracks
             G                   C                 Bm               G
I should've known that kind of feelin' would last longer than that weekend
        C             G                 Am              C
Blown away and barely breathin' Sunday came and it was over
C                 Am               C                 G
Now she's got me twisted, like an old beach roller coaster

G                     C              Am           G
The rest of those days, turned into long, crazy nights
         C                    Am
When the music got loud we  sneak away from the crowd
           G            C
Under the boardwalk lights
          G                 C         Bm
And with all the things we said, what I just can't get past
   C                               Am
Is the way we let it end, now I m wonder  where she is
          G               C
Know   I can't get that goodbye back

        G                   C            Bm               G
And we spent that week wide open, upside down beside the ocean
          C                 G                     Am                  C
I didn't know where it was goin' just tryin' to keep my heart on the tracks
             G                   C                 Bm               G
I should've known that kind of feelin' would last longer than that weekend
        C             G                 Am              C
Blown away and barely breathin' Sunday came and it was over
C                 Am               C                 G
Now she's got me twisted, like an old beach roller coaster

G             C                    Am
She's like a song playin' over and over
      G            C            Am
In my mind, where I still hold her
          G                       C        Am
I had the chance and I should've told her

        G                    C            Bm               G
When we spent that week wide open, upside down beside the ocean
            C                  G                     Am                   C
I should’ve known where it was goin' still tryin' to keep my heart on the tracks
                 G                   C                 Bm               G
And I should've known that kind of feelin' would last longer than that weekend
        C             G                      Am              C
Blown away and barely breathin' when Sunday came and it was over
C                 Am       C              Am
Now she's got me twisted, yeah I m still twisted,
        C                 G
Like an old beach roller coaster
         C                 G
Like an old beach roller coaster.
